Privacy policy and data handling

This page explains the current BuyTheBag implementation draft for account, wallet, live-event, and transaction data handling. It is intended to be customer-facing, but it still needs qualified legal review before a public production launch.

Effective version 2026-07-29

Information we collect

We collect account details you provide, such as name, email, phone number, addresses, preferences, and login activity.

We collect transaction and wallet information, including funding requests, pull history, buyback claims, shipment requests, and support messages.

We may collect device, browser, IP, and event analytics data to secure the service, debug issues, and improve site performance.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the service, operate live-sale events, maintain your wallet and vault cart, fulfill shipments, and answer support requests.

We use transaction data for fraud prevention, chargeback defense, compliance review, accounting, and business reporting.

We may use preferences and behavior signals to improve recommendations, event relevance, and customer experience.

Funding, risk, and verification

Wallet funding and higher-risk activity may require additional review, including identity, address, payment-method, or source-of-funds verification.

We may use internal controls and third-party service providers to assess payment risk, prevent fraud, and manage disputes.

Pending bank-based funding may be retained in a non-available state until settlement and review complete.

Sharing of information

We may share information with payment processors, banking partners, shipping providers, fraud-prevention vendors, analytics vendors, hosting providers, and professional advisers as needed to operate the service.

We may disclose information where required by law, court order, lawful request, or to protect our rights, users, inventory, or platform integrity.

We do not treat wallet credit or vault activity as publicly visible customer information unless you knowingly participate in a public live event or on-air interaction.

Live events and public interactions

If you participate in a live event, your display name, purchase queue status, comments, and reveal outcome may be shown to hosts, moderators, or viewers according to the event format.

If you submit content through a connected social platform, that content may also be governed by the platform's own privacy and community rules.

Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in public event chat or live comments.

Retention and security

We retain account, transaction, and audit information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, comply with law, and defend claims.

We use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards designed to protect account and transaction information, but no system is completely risk-free.

You should protect your own credentials, device access, and email account to reduce unauthorized access risk.

Your choices

You can update your profile, addresses, communication preferences, and many account details from My Account.

You may request help with account corrections, support issues, or certain privacy questions through our support channels.

Some records, such as completed transaction logs and compliance records, may need to be retained even if other profile data changes.

Privacy draft status

This privacy policy is a product and implementation draft and should still be reviewed and approved by qualified counsel before public launch.
